The north shore of the island of Kauai has become one of Susan's favorite places in Hawaii. In particular, the area around the town of Hanalei is full of scenes and sights to which Susan feels strongly drawn.
"Hanalei Vista" is Susan's depiction of the view at one of her favorite lookouts. She likes the way the taro fields below form a beautiful organic grid that meets up with the majestic mountains behind.
