One of Susan's favorite places on the island of Oahu is the lagoon that is nestled in front of the Ihilani Resort & Spa in Ko'olina Resort. "Kohola Lagoon at Ihilani" is her depiction of a particularly beautiful view of the lagoon, the beach and the coastline receding into the distance towards Honolulu. Susan explains, "I love the soft curving sandy beach and the vibrant emerald color of the water in the lagoon. I am inspired by the pinkish rocks that protect the lagoon and the friendly palms that wave in the breeze. I feel a special tranquility when I spend time here and I hope I share that mood in this painting."
