The Moku Lua islands of windward Oahu have inspired Susan every time she's seen them. "They look a little different every time I visit them, and yet, they always have an incredible energy that speaks of the spiritual power of the place", she says. "When I saw the little girl on the beach one afternoon, she seemed to be very much 'in the moment' - appreciating the little treasures she had found at her feet.
"Lanikai Afternoon" is my attempt to share the quiet, simple tranquility of this scene which captured my heart right away. I wanted to express how moved I was by the power and beauty of it all."
